Hello All and Welcome!
I’m back again with a short tutorial featuring the new Tangled Twigs die that Tim Holtz and Sizzix introduced on the Sizzix Tim Holtz for Halloween Video.
Here is a look at the Tanged Twigs Die…it’s so intricate and the detail is AMAZING!
If you haven’t watched it, you should check it out…so much inspiration from so many talented designers. You’re sure to be inspired!
Let’s begin!
First I started by creating the background paper for the base of my card.
I blended several colors ( Seedless Preserves & Fossilized Amber Oxide and Seedless Preserves, Fossilized Amber, Crushed Olive, and Black Soot Distress Ink) around on a piece of Watercolor Paper and then smooshed some Black Soot Distress onto a grid block and sprayed it with a little water, then I mixed it with my fingers a bit.
Then added it to my background, and dried it with my heat tool.
Then I created a background with Watercolor Paper for the Tangled Twigs to be cut from..using the same technique and a variety of brown Distress Inks, both inks and oxides.
Then I cut the Tangled Twigs out of the paper.
I cut out a frame with two of the Stacked Baroque dies and then blended it with some brown and black Distress Inks and a few drips of the inks that were in my background. Then I embossed the edges with Tarnished Brass Embossing Powder.
I created a background to go inside the frame with one of the Reflections (CMS111) background stamps and the number 13 from the Merchant (CMS331) stamp set.
Then I cut a raven out of Watercolor Paper, smooshed and rubbed it with Black Soot Distress Ink, spritzed it with a bit of water and dried it with my heat tool. Then I spritzed him again with a bit of Resist Spray.
I layered all my pieces together in the center of the card.
Thank you so much for stopping by today and be sure to stop back…
Creatively Yours,
Stacy
