STAMPtember 2018 with Tim Holtz & Simon Says Stamp

Hello and Welcome!

Today is the release of an exclusive stamp set by Tim Holtz and Stampers Anonymous for Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember. This is a limited edition stamp set that also includes 4 Layering Stencils!

AND ~ is only available WHILE SUPPLIES LAST…

here is a link to the STAMPtember EXCLUSIVE.

It is such a beautiful set and full of tons of possibilities!

I instantly fell in love with the bird image and had to use it on my card, along with the handwritten music image.

Here is the card that I created with this EXCLUSIVE set.

Let’s begin…

First I started by creating the background on Watercolor paper. I stamped the music stamp by inking up the stamp with Old Paper Distress Ink, then spritzed it with a little water and then stamped it twice and dried it with my heat tool.

Then I added a bit of the Tim Holtz Ornate background (CMS348) with Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide, spritzed with water, stamped and dried with my heat tool.

Then I blended several colors of Distress Inks (Old Paper, Frayed Burlap, Old Paper Oxide, Antique Linen Oxide, and Frayed Burlap Oxide) onto the background and spritzed with water, dried and added smooshed bits of ink.

Then I decided to add a bit of Weathered Wood Distress Ink to give it a more wintery look.  I also stamped the music again and embossed it with Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder.

 the bird…

I stamped the bird image onto a Mixed Media tag with Black Soot Archival Ink. Then colored it with my Detail Waterbrush and a variety of Distress Inks. Then I stamped the typography background stamp from Entomology (CMS328) with Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide, then embossed it with clear embossing powder.

I trimmed it down, blended a bit of Frayed Burlap around the edge and matted it to a piece of green cardstock. With my sewing machine and cream thread, I randomly stitched around the mat.

Then I used a piece of scrap watercolor paper and embossed the Christmas Greeting with Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder and blended it with Weathered Wood Distress Ink.

the nest…

I cut a few greens from the Holiday Greens Mini and Garden Greens sets and blended them with a variety of distress inks, and embossed them with clear embossing powder and some Recollections Opaque Bling on the tips. I added berries to a couple of the greens with Tonic Nuvo Drops in Pale Gold and before they were set, sprinkled them with Clear Rock Candy Glitter.

I then trimmed off some pieces of scrap paper with my Tonic Paper Trimmer…it’s amazing how fine it can trim!

I scrunched the trims up and began blending it with the greens to form a nest. I cut a couple twigs from the Feather and Raven set and blended them with a variety of brown distress inks. Then added those to the nest.

I began arranging my card. I trimmed the greeting down and blended Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide around the edge. Then with my sewing machine, I stitched the greeting with a slight curve, to fit just under the nest.

Thank you so much for stopping by today and be sure to stop over to timholtz.com to see a list of other designers who contributed their beautiful cards!

…it won’t last long!

Creatively Yours,

Stacy
