Hello friends…
Happy February 12th!
February 12th is a very busy day in our family… as today my husband, Eric and I, are celebrating our 26th Anniversary and it’s my son, Zach’s, 24th Birthday!! It’s funny how that happens in families sometimes where two memorable things happen on one special day of the year. I mean, what are the odds of that? I certainly don’t know what they are…but I am so grateful for two of God’s blessings that came into my life on this day… my marriage to my best friend and the birth of our one and only child.
…it’s our lucky day! ♥️
Anyways, that brings me to today’s tutorial.
I created an Anniversary card for my hubby and thought I’d share a little of the details with you. Eric is very much into Star Wars so I thought instead of making the typical anniversary card, I’d make him one that was a bit more “him”.
The new Tim Holtz Heartbeat Thinlet set mixed so well with the new Mini Glitch Stamp Set and the Digits & Circuit Layering Stencils. I loved making this card and enjoyed grunging it all up with the help some more new products, the new Distress Embossing Glazes.
To make the card, I embossed a piece of Silver Metallic Kraft paper with the 3D Foundry Embossing Folder. Then I cut out the Heartbeat in the center of the paper.
I blended a small amount of Black Soot Distress Paint over the paper and once it was almost dry, I rubbed off some of the paint, leaving the paint in the impressed areas of the paper.
I blended on a little Gold Alcohol Ink Mixative and then lightly spritzed the paper with some drips of water & sprinkled some Walnut Stain Embossing Glaze over the areas. With an embossing gun, I embossed the glaze. It’s so cool to emboss with water!
After the embossing glaze was cooled down, I spritzed the paper with Rusty Hinge and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide Sprays. I spritzed the sprayed areas with water to activate the oxide and dried it with my heat tool. After it was dry, I spritzed the paper with a light mist of water and sprinkled on some Rusty Hinge Embossing Glaze. Then I embossed the glaze with my heat gun.
When I was done heat embossing, I rubbed over top of the embossed areas a bit of Rusty Hinge, Cracked Pistachio and Black Soot Distress Crayon.
Here’s a little close-up …YUM!! Check out all those lovely rusty and grungy bits!!
I sprayed a piece of Distress Watercolor paper with a variety of Distress Spray Stains and Oxide Sprays, water and inks (Weathered Wood, Hickory Smoke, Rusty Hinge, Cracked Pistachio, Frayed Burlap, Walnut Stain).
I stamped some areas with images from the Mini Glitch Stamp Set and the text from the Stampers Anonymous Classics #6 stamp set. Then I randomly added Distress Crackle texture paste through the Digits Layering Stencil. While the texture paste was still wet, I sprinkled the digits with Embossing Glaze (Rusty Hinge, Walnut Stain, Cracked Pistachio) and once the paste was dry, embossed them with a heat tool.
I blended the Distress Embossing Dauber through the circuits Laying Stencil, sprinkled it with Liquid Platinum and Gold Embossing Powders.
I painted some idea-ology Mini Gears, Sprocket and Gears and Hardware Heads with a variety of Distress Paints.
I cut the “love” rhythm out of a piece of Copper Metallic Kraft paper and blended on some areas with Distress Crayons.
I stamped the phrase “love with all your heart” from the Tiny Texts Stamp Set.
I arranged the Gears and Hardware Heads under a piece of mica and adhered them to a piece of distress stained paper with collage medium.
The “love” rhythm was adhered to the front of the heart and mica window then a couple Hardware Heads were placed to the right and left side.
The phrase was added below the heartbeat and all the pieces were adhered together with pop-dots and collage medium.
With that, my card was complete…
Thanks so much for stopping by…I hope you have a wonderful day and have a Happy Valentine’s Day!
Creatively yours,
Stacy

Great outside the “love” box card and great use of all of your grunge supplies. I’m sure your husband will love it.
Another great project! Always enjoy seeing what you have created – you are a master! Can you tell me if you would consider teaching us how to age metal hardware? Both patina and aged look. Thank you for your consideration.
Thank you for continuing to inspire us all.
Wow! That is gorgeous!!! The way you bring all those elements together and make them work so well is awesome! Love the mica window, too. Happy Anniversary to you and your husband 🎉👏🥂 and Happy Birthday to your son 🎂🎉
Your designs are the best! Would you ever consider making videos??
Happy anniversary and happy birth day! Wonderful to be able to celebrate two most special occasions on the very same day! This is such an incredibly beautiful card, it really is so awesome seeing your talents shine! xx
I just am amazed at how you make the rusted pieces so rusty. Love the heart, well, just everything about this piece. Thanks for sharing another masterpiece Stacy. Happy Valentines Day to you.
Hello!
When you add the embossing powder to the texture paste digits, did you do that before lifting the stencil?
Thanks for sharing! I love your projects!
Happiest of days to you. The twelfth is a special day for you for sure. The card is amazing. You are likely to get a call from the Star Wars franchise to design for them. It is truly and perfectly representative of that genre. Really amazing.
Fabulous card Stacy, so much grungy yummieness!! I love how all of the different elements meld together so well!! Happy Anniversary and Happy Birthday to Zach! Two lucky fellows to have such a creative person in their lives, have the best day ever 🥂🎂!!

You are the queen of distress girl! Love this card. I really need to get some distress paint! I’ve tried to wipe on and off with other products and it never looks right. I bet your husband will love this card! TFS
Happy Anniversary, that’s a great milestone to make it past 25 years. You have some catching up to do to catch us though….we will make it to 46 this year…EEP! Doesn’t even seem near that long…LOL. Love the card, lots of grungy yumminess…
First off “ happy anniversary “. I am in awe of the card you made for your husband. You first got me with the tag you made with the new glazes, so I ordered them and a bunch of goodies to be delivered at end of month. Started following you to not miss anymore of your great works of art! I Can’t wait to try the new stuff and hope I can do a “bit of a percent” of what you’ve created. Thanks for the inspiration!!
Happy Anniversary to you both. Thank you for sharing steps of the amazingly unique process of your very personal creative greeting. X
