Hello friends! I hope that you are doing well.. I have a new project for you today using a couple products from Simon Says Stamp.
Here’s a peek at the card and tag that I made, and as you can tell, I am completely enjoying making fall themed things. Fall is my favorite season and typically here in Ohio we go directly from hotter than hot summer into cold and snowy and Fall always seems to be the shortest, if we get much of it. So, I am taking as much fall I can get, which also includes fall making!
These were made using some exclusive Simon Says Stamp products that includes the Pepperberry Bundle which includes the dies that you see cut out some of the embossed designs, the Luggage Tags Die Set (for the tags), and Forest Forage in Summer Stamp Set for the phrases. I LOVE these folders from Simon, especially these that include dies to match the embossed designs making it so easy to cut out the designs and use them for embellishments, what a bonus!
The backgrounds were embossed and then colored using a Simon Says Stamp blending brush and mini distress ink pads to add the color.
The details of the embossed stems is unbelievable…I just love how these came out, so perfectly fall!
So, let’s get to it…
I started by adding some inks to the inside of the Embossing Folder. I used a combination of Frayed Burlap, Pumice Stone and Gathered Twigs. I spritzed a piece of Distress Watercolor Paper with water, then ran it through my big shot.
I dried the paper with my heat tool, then began adding color to the embossed design.
I applied my mini Bundled Sage Distress Ink directly to the areas on the embossed designs, then blended that ink using the blending tool.
Then I added a little Shabby Shutters and blended it.
Then to color the berries…I used a little Dried Marigold, then blended it out.
And then to finish the berries I added some Rusty Hinge and blended it out.
I did this whole process again to another sheet of Distress Watercolor Paper that was cut to fit inside the Embossing Folder, then, using the die shapes included with the folder, cut out the coordinating item and berries.
After I cut out the stems, I noticed that they weren’t as embossed, so I put them back inside the folder matching them to the coordinating pattern, and ran them through the big shot. This re-embossed them giving their shape back to them.
After I had both the little stems and background papers done, I decided to add a little shimmer to them by blending a little Unraveled Mica Spray onto it. I spritzed some of the stain onto my craft mat, then using the blending brush, dipped it into the color and blended it. Easy peasy!
I created some inky paper to cut out the Luggage tags using a combination of Frayed Burlap and Pumice Stone Distress Inks and some water. I smooshed the inks onto a craft mat, spritzed it with water, then dipped my paper into the inks. I spritzed the paper with some Unraveled Mica Stain, then dried it with my heat tool.
I cut out the tags using the Simon Says Stamp Luggage Tag Die Set, then using some of the leftover inky paper, stamped a phrase from the Forage Forest in Summer Stamp Set. I embossed the phrases using some gold embossing powder and cut the phrases out using some additional sizes of the tags.
After I had all the elements set, I began building the card. I stitched around the edge of the card background using my sewing machine. I tied some inky ribbon to the top of the tags and added the embossed berry stems using Pawsitively Perfect Craft Glue. I added the tags to the front of the card and tied a little ribbon to my tiny phrase tag and adhered it to the front of the larger tags. I added the card front to a card base to complete the card.
For the tag, I cut out two different sizes of the tags and tied them together using a scrap of ribbon. I attached the berry stem then embossed a phrase onto another little tag. I tied on a tiny piece of string and added it to the front of the tag using foam adhesive.
With that, my card and tag were complete!
