Hello friends! Another day, another day of Fall inspiration!
Today I have a slimline card for you because sometimes it’s fun to switch up the sizes. I cut out a bunch of leaves using the Simon Says Stamp Autumn Leaves Wafer Die set.
I dug through my scrap bin and pulled out a bunch of inky papers that gave that fall color combo that I was looking for, then, I began cutting!
…in the end, I had a bunch of wonderful little leaves. Look at those little beauties…distress ink and sprays always make the perfect papers for die-cutting, but there is just something about using them for fall leaves, the little speckles and flecks just make the little leaves sing!
I began arranging the leaves in a falling pattern on my craft mat.
Then added the arrangement to a piece of inky watercolor paper that was cut into a slimline size. This one happened to be 3″x6″ or so, but as always, there are no rules with card making, so depending on the size of the pattern you have chosen with the leaves, decide on your size.
I blended the paper with some Gathered Twigs Distress Ink using a blending tool, then spritzed on some Unraveled and Decayed Mica Stain, then I dried it with my heat tool and adhered all the leaves in place using some Pawsitively Perfect Craft Glue. After the leaves were adhered, I blended on a little Gathered Twigs to the leaves, then did a quick mist of Unraveled over the background, then I dried it with my heat tool.
I stamped a phrase from the Graceful Flowers Stamp set on a separate piece of scrap paper and embossed it with some Liquid Platinum embossing powder, then I cut out the phrase using the XL SSS EZ Strips Banners Wafer Die. I blended the edges of both the banner and card front using the Gathered Twigs ink and blending tool.
To finish the front, I stitched around the edge using my sewing machine.
I cut an additional mat for behind the card front and adhered it together using some foam adhesive and tape, then added the card front to a card base made with Tim Holtz Kraft Heavystock. I added some jute to the fold of the card & tied a bow.
With that, my card was complete.
