Hello Friends, I’m so happy you stopped by today!
Holy Moly! …How fun was it yesterday to watch the AWESOME Tim Holtz Facebook Live!!! Tim and Stampers Anonymous have done it again…so many brilliant stamp sets, beautiful creations and unlimited inspiration. I could hardly stand it. If you didn’t have a chance to watch it today you can see it HERE
It was such a privilage to be asked to create some samples and I am so excited to share them with you! Here is my first one…
The Fabulous Mr. Bones!
I love him! Creepy yet distinguished …am I right? And don’t even get me started on that owl… oh my goodness, this set is sure to be one of my go-tos for Halloween.
For this card I used – Mr. Bones (CMS345) Ornate & Lace (CMS348) and also the new Shifter Diamonds Layering Stencil (THS110) …wait till you try them, they are so cool, super easy to use and oh so addictive!
Lets begin…
I stamped Mr. Bones with Ground Expresso Archival Ink, onto a piece of watercolor paper that I found in my scrap box..the paper already had some lightly inked images on it in very muted tones. It hadn’t worked on another project, but worked perfectly for this one.
I then cut out a mask of Mr. Bones and placed it over top of him, then with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink, stamped over him with the Ornate background stamp.
On another sheet of watercolor paper I blended Gathered Twigs and Black Soot Distress Inks through the Diamonds Shifter Layering Stencil and blended Black Soot Distress Ink around the edge.
I cut out a leaf from the new Sizzix Skeleton Leaves die set and sprayed the leaf with some Tarnished Brass Distress Spray.
I stitched the diamond paper onto a piece of patterned paper from the Collage Paper Stash. Mr. Bones was matted onto a piece of black card stock that had been stamped with a few spiderwebs in Picket Fence Distress Ink.
I sewed a small piece of spooky fabric to the back of Mr. Bones and added an Idea-ology Halloween Word Key, and a wasp from the Entomology Stamp Set.
The wasp was stamped onto watercolor paper, colored with Distress Markers, and a Clear Wink of Stella Marker, then with a Ranger Clear Embossing Marker and Clear Embossing Powder, embossed and cut out.
The phrase “Trick or Treat” was stamped onto a scrap piece of dictionary paper and cut into a banner shape.
The phrase “no one would dare” was from the Idea-ology Halloween Clippings.
Thank you so much for stopping by today!
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and I look forward to sharing more inspiration from today’s Facebook Live in September and October. So be sure to stop back and follow this blog!
