Welcome, Friends!
Today I have another sample that was created for the Tim Holtz and Sizzix Creativation 2018 Booth… I decided to share this one today because I am dreaming of some warm spring days…unfortunately it is snowing here in Northwest Ohio…again…fingers crossed that spring weather is just around the corner! This card was created with a few new Sizzix die sets…
Funky Floral #2
Shadow Script #1
and Stacked Baroque
All of these are now available…wahoo!!
First, I started by creating the frame and and card background.
The background was created with watercolor cardstock, Antique Linen Distress Oxide Ink and the Stampers Anonymous Floral (THS077) Layering Stencil. I blended a bit of Antique Linen and sprayed it with water, dried it with my heat tool and then took the layering stencil and blended more Antique Linen, with a heavier hand, through the stencil, the flowers were then sprinkled with clear embossing powder and embossed with a heat tool.
The frame was cut by taping 2 dies onto a cutting mat with post it tape and then it was run through my Vagabond to create a frame. The post it tape works very well to keep the dies from moving. I then stamped the frame with one of the Ledger Script background stamps and blended some Frayed Burlap Distress Ink Then some Distress Crazing Collage Medium was spread onto it and it was set aside to dry and crackle. After it was dry I applied some Distress Crayon in Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain. The crayons were applied with my finger to define the cracks on the frame. Distress Crayons are an awesome way to get the crackles to pop! You can really see the cracks in this photo below.
Next I cut the word “love” and its background. Blended the word “love” with clear embossing ink and embossed it with Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder. The background was stamped using the Ledger Script background stamps (CMS241) along with Watering Can Archival Ink. It was then blended with some Antique Linen Distress Oxide.
The flowers and leaves were all made by first blending inks in various Distress greens and yellows onto scrap paper, embossing them with clear embossing powder and then cutting them from those papers…I have found that this is the easiest way for me when working with itty bitty pieces. All the tiny flowers and leaves were adhered together using Distress Matte Medium and then adhered to the card.
I then added some of the Ledger Background onto the card background, I used a cutout of the baroque die as a mask to stamp the writing into the shape where the frame would be.
Crinkle Ribbon was used to create the bow…I smooshed a few oxide inks (Peeled Paint, Frayed Burlap, Antique Linen) onto my craft mat with a few sprays of water and put my piece of ribbon into it and blended it all around until it was to my liking…then the ribbon was dried with my heat tool. I then tied it into a bow and added one of the new Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Jeweled Charms to it. I also used a phrase underneath the word love from the Idea-ology Chit Chat Stickers.
My background was added to a piece of patterned paper that was from the Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Wallflower Paper Stash.
For the inside of the card…
I cut a piece of watercolor paper and added some texture paste through the Rosette Layering Stencil (THS092) After it was dry I blended some Antique Linen Oxide Ink and a bit of Frayed Burlap around the edges of the piece. I then added a few of the funky flowers and leaves and matted it onto another piece of patterned paper cut from the same Wallflower Paper Stash.
Thank you so much for joining my today! If you have any questions, please feel free to leave me a comment or send me an email.
Have a wonderful day!
Creatively Yours,
Stacy

So happy this morning, once again, to see an email from you in my box. Snuggled back in my sofa and read over each of your directions for this gorgeous card. Your work is so amazing, why are we just now seeing it? Have you been doing this for a long time but never posting or did you just start? Either way, thank you for the eye candy and the inspiration!!!
Thank you so much, Sheila! I’m so happy you like it when I post…it means so much to me! ❤️
And, I had some time off from creating for a bit but have luckily been inspired again! Thank you again for all of your kind words…it means more than you know 🙂 ❤️

Be still my beating heart! Stacy, this is not going to sound like I mean it, but I almost wish I hadn’t seen this! One, because I REALLY thought I could pass on the Funky Florals and Shadow Script dies, but I’m pretty sure I can’t live without them now! What a AMAZING inspiration! Two, because I was working on a design in my head last night, and it’s very similar! But, I AM so happy that I saw this, because your work is always a treat to look at! Love, Love, LOVE that frame! I was floored when I saw this die set come out…I had just purchased the BIGZ baroque and the small movers and shapers. Oh, well, I can always use more Baroque! You are amazing! Hugs!
Thank you, Sara Emily!! You crack me up! 😂 I’m so glad that you’re considering getting the dies…they are wonderful and can be used in so many ways! Thank you so much for every kind word! Hugs! ❤️
