Hello and Happy Holidays!
I’m so happy you stopped by! If you’re anything like me, these last few weeks have flown by way to quickly. Between decorating the house for Christmas, shopping for gifts, and all of the everyday things happening in my life, I haven’t had much time to sit and play with my stamps…until today! These tags were inspired by some super cute black and white candy canes I found shopping last week…Oreo flavored!!! Yum!!…(By the way, Spangler Candy Co. is just a couple little towns over from my town in Ohio, these are the best candy canes.. hands down, in any flavor…they also make dumdum suckers!)
Candy canes make the perfect package decoration. They can be tied on and tucked into ribbons, tied on to bags…the possibilities are endless! These tags were really easy to make and will blend with all kinds of wrapping.
So here’s a slightly condensed tutorial, because these days…we all need to save a little time.
Lets get started!!
First, I started by cutting several tags with the new Tim Holtz/Sizzix Sidekick. I cut them from some white cardstock and then stamped them with a couple different Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Christmas Background Stamps. They were stamped using Jet Black and Watering Can Archival Ink. After they were stamped I blended some Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink around the edges with a blending tool and set them aside.
I then cut a few of the round large size circle tags from the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Gift Tags Die Set. These were the perfect size to stamp the small Swirly Snowflakes on. The snowflakes were stamped in Black Archival Ink and then Heat Embossed with Clear Embossing Powder (…this step is a good step to skip if you are wanting to save some time)
I then cut a couple of greens out of some cardstock. The greens were cut from the new Tim Holtz/Sizzix Festive Greens Set. Then, out of red cardstock, I cut several bows. The bow is also included in that same set. I layered the tags and adhered the round tags with pop dots and glued the greens with Glossy Accents.
You’ll notice in the photos that I blended ink, and glittered some of the edges of the round tags. I also blended some ink onto a few of the greens and onto all of the bows using Black Soot Oxide Ink. Each tag is unique and will blend beautifully with any type of package.
The background patterned paper for the tags was from the Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Mini Christmas Stash Paper Pad. I trimmed backgrounds for each of the tags and looped them together with some black and white bakers twine. Also, the tags are only connected to the patterned paper with the loop of twine at the top, I did this so that I could write a message inside.
Lickity Split…they’re done! Now moving on to the next Christmas project…
Thank you so much for stopping by today Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!
Creatively Yours, Stacy
