Hello friends! Cant you believe it…it’s STAMPtember with Tim, Simon Says Stamp and Stampers Anonymous!! Wooohooooo! It’s time to get those Christmas inspiration juices flowing and get making for Christmas…and with the cutest set too!
Today is the day that Tim and Simon are releasing their stamp set for STAMPtember along with a cool new set of dies to match it exclusively from Simon Says Stamp. Plus, their little postage stamp die set works so perfectly with it too!
Here’s a peek at the stamp set and dies that I used to create my sample for the release.
It is such a cute set that I thought it’d be cute to make them into tiny cards, then I tied a little string to the left where the fold of the card was to make them into little tags perfect for hanging on a gift bag, gift or tied to a card front.
I stamped the image onto the smooth side of a piece of Distress Watercolor Paper and using my Stamping Platform, stamped the images onto the paper with Black Soot Archival Ink. I then embossed the images with Distress Frosted Crystal Embossing Powder. I colored the images using both Distress Mica Stain (Tart Cranberry) and Distress Watercolor Pencils. The Mica was applied to the red areas using a paintbrush, then dried using a heat tool. The red, once dried, has a little shimmer to it from the mica. The watercolor pencils were colored directly onto the images, then blended out using a damp paint brush.
After the images were dry, I went back with a little Antique Linen and Black Soot watercolor to give each of the images some highlights.
Using the Simon Says Stamp Dies that match the STAMPtember set, I cut out all the images using my Big Shot. Then I created some backgrounds to use to cut out the Postage Stamp dies. I used a variety of both Distress Inks, Spray Stains and Stamps to create the backgrounds.
I cut little card backs, scored them and folded them to be an approximately 2″x 2.25″ card front. Then I stitched around each of the large Postage Stamp Backgrounds using my sewing machine. The little festive stamped cutout shapes were adhered to the small Postage Stamps using foam tabs. I tied a small string around the smallest postage stamp, then the little stamps were adhered together and adhered to their coordinating card front.
I stamped phrases from the stamp set onto scraps of watercolor paper, cut them into small tag shapes, and tied them to the little cards. I cut several pieces of white and silver bakers twine then strung each of the cards, and tied a knot to create a tag tie on the left side of the card fold.
With that, my little tie on gift cards were complete!
Thank you so much Tim and Simon Says Stamp for the privilege of making for the STAMPtember release. I absolutely LOVE this set of stamps and dies and know they will be a hit throughout the Christmas making season. If you’re interested in this set, be sure to hop over to Simon Says Stamp to purchase it, and you might want to be quick as it won’t be around long.. it is only available till it sells out!

This is the “cutest” idea and I really like all the colors and patterns you used when making the tags. I like the idea of hanging this style of tag on gift bags.
